The citizenship test is part of most adult citizenship applications. It checks what you know about Canada—your rights and responsibilities as a citizen, plus topics such as history, geography, government, laws, economy, and national symbols. IRCC bases all test questions on the official study guide, Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship. Passing the test is one step toward becoming a Canadian citizen; you may also need to meet other requirements (such as language skills for applicants aged 18–54) and attend a citizenship ceremony.
